"Homeland" season 5 premiere date is fast approaching. It is well documented that the Showtime political drama will do another major location shift.
From Pakistan, the setting of the TV series starring Claire Danes, will now move to Berlin, Germany. Carrie Mathison will also have a new romantic partner this season.
A lot of spoilers have been shared but what about Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend)? Where is he during the "Homeland" season 5 premiere? According to Friend himself, the CIA operative and assassin is in a bad situation. His friends and colleagues have moved to Europe but he is still in Syria, probably in the least likable circumstance.
"At the beginning of the season, we find that Quinn's been in deepest, darkest Syria," Friend said in an interview with E! Online.
Despite this, fans don't have to worry that much because he has Saul (Mandy Patinkin) with him. He is not in a good place in "Homeland" season 5 premiere but they are working on it.
"There is no one on this planet that Saul would put more trust and faith in, than Peter Quinn," Patinkin said in the same interview.
"It's a bond that no one else can know about," Friend says, "I think at this point that suits Quinn very well."
Also, don't expect Carrie to be with Peter or Saul in "Homeland" season 5 premiere. They are far from each other, figuratively and literally. Carrie made some awful decisions last season which lead to a fall out with her mentor and her friend.
"Carrie and Quinn have parted ways after they came together in the finale," showrunner Meredith Stiehm said back in March.
"Quinn was actually really ready to try things, but Carrie sabotaged it, and I think she regrets that. She tried to get him back and he was gone, so she knows she screwed that up. It's two years later, and they've both moved on to other things. But something's always in the air and when they cross paths again, we'll see what happens. I'm excited to see where their paths cross."
"Homeland" season 5 premiere date is Oct. 4.
