Starbucks fans are excited for the pumpkin spice latte as it hits stores soon, but reports said they will not be out until September 8, which makes your waiting time even longer.
According to NBC News, the Starbucks pumpkin latte will be released by early September, and will have some customers try it as early as September 4.
If you do not want to wait until Starbucks releases its pumpkin spice latte, maybe you can take some tips from YouTube uploader CookWithApril on how to make your own Starbucks pumpkin spice latte at home. And maybe turn it into a business?
CookWithApril posted a video on YouTube detailing the recipe for a "Starbucks" pumpkin spice latte that they say is "similar to Starbucks but not exactly."
The first step is to brew coffee. April used ten scoops of medium-roast coffee from Starbucks with two cups of water. Once the coffee is brewed, add some three tablespoons of brown sugar but the amount may be changed depending on how sweet you would like your Starbucks pumpkin spice latte to taste.
Then she added ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, but you can also opt to just add ¼ teaspoon for lesser flavor. Continue mixing these ingredients with the brewed coffee while adding in the others.
She then added ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract for the smell and aroma. Add two tablespoons of pumpkin puree.
An important reminder for this Starbucks pumpkin spice latte DIY recipe is to mix it thoroughly together. If you have a whisk at home, it is advisable to use it over just a large spoon.
After some mixing, add two cups of almond milk, or if this is not present in the kitchen, regular milk or soy milk may also be used, the recipe said.
You will notice the mixture getting creamier with the milk. With this, keep on mixing. April advises on tasting the blend first and see if some more of the ingredients can be added.
A whipped cream may be added on top for some Starbucks decorations, and sprinkle pumpkin spice to garnish the drink.
"I am gonna show you how to make a copycat of Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. It's not exactly like it, but it's pretty similar," April said in the video.
April's companion in the video tried tasting the homemade Starbucks pumpkin spice latte and compared it with the real Starbucks drink.
"It actually tastes very similar, I am actually very impressed," her companion said after test-tasting the two versions.
