The latest "The Walking Dead" season 6 spoilers suggest fan favorite Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, could be on the way out as two dead characters were reportedly seen on the set of the AMC hit series.
A post on The Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page claimed that actors Tyler William James (Noah) and Michael Rooker (Merle) were spotted at the "TWD" set in Senoia, Ga. leading many to wonder if it's a sign of Daryl's death next season.
ComicBook.com recalled how, back in Comic-Con, producer Scott Gimple said he's working on a flashback episode for season 6.
"Given that both Rooker and Tyler William James' characters are no longer amongst the living survivors, a flashback would be the only plausible way to bring them back on the show," the website said.
But what could "The Walking Dead" season 6 spoilers be for? The website speculated that bringing back big brother Merle could be a way "to develop Daryl's character."
Then again, Merle's presence could mean the end of the crossbow-wielding fan favorite. Long-time "Walking Dead" comic book fans know that Daryl Dixon isn't in the source material.
"It's possible [his] time on the series has come to an end and Merle is there to get him through it, kind of like how Beth came to Tyreese in the end," iDigitalTimes said.
Apart from Daryl's death, Design & Trend speculated that the flashback episode could be about Steven Yeun's Glenn who "had meaningful interactions with Merle and Noah over the course of the show" or even Lennie James' Morgan which could explain what he was doing before reuniting with old pal Rick.
Another thing to consider is that the flashback episode could just be part of the "particularly complicated" storytelling "TWD" will follow which Norman Reedus said is "really interwoven with future and past," as Franchise Herald reported last month.
Fans shouldn't rush to conclude Daryl's death or any other character's just yet though. The Spoiling Dead Fans did say that "The Walking Dead" season 6 spoilers haven't been confirmed yet. The show returns to AMC on October 11.
