Xiaomi Mi 4's successor, the Mi 4c, reportedly passed TENAA certification.
Xiaomi is set to unveil another mid-range device, if the rumors are to be believed. GSM Arena reported that a leaked documentation from TENAA shows an upcoming Xiaomi device touted as the Mi 4c has been certified by the agency.
The Xioami Mi 4i's successor carries the same design of the Mi 4i, but boasts incremental upgrades. The Mi 4c has a 5inch screen display with 1080p resolution and will be powered by a Snapdragon 808. The SoC with "hexa-core processor with 2x Cortex-A57 at 1.8GHz and 4x Cortex-A53 at 1.44GHz, Adreno 418 GPU and 2GB of RAM" and has a 16GB onboard storage. This internal specs has been confirmed in a leaked Antutu benchmark test posted in Weibo.
Also, it was revealed by TENAA's documentation that it will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which suggests that MIUI 7 will be on top. Camera-wise, it has a 13MP rear shooter and a 5MP front camera.
Softpedia added that the upcoming single-SIM mid-range device will support 4G LTE connectivity and will be backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
The Xioami Mi 4i's successor might go official any time soon along with Xioami's next flagship device the Xiaomi Mi5 which has been recently rumored to carry a hefty price tag of $371 to $386, while its Plus version might be priced up to $600, VC Post reported.
Aside from releasing these devices any time soon, according to IB Times Xioami is rumored to finally enter the South African market following Google's Android One initiative.
The Chinese phone manufacturer partnered with pan-Africa distributor, Mobile In Africa, to distribute its mobile devices to 50 sub-Saharan countries.
"There is a great need for mobile technology in Africa that is of top-notch quality but still affordable. What I found in Xiaomi is a company, and a business model, that can accommodate the needs of African consumers," Mobile Africa president RJ van Spaandonk told Forbes.
