The HTC Vive VR headset is set to make a UK public debut at EGX 2015 where guests can try out the device themselves.
The event, said to be the UK's biggest gaming expo, will be held at The NEC in Birmingham from September 24 to 27.
"Gaming expos the world over have seen a growth in the presence of virtual reality over the last few years and, as consumer hardware launches for all three major VR players loom large, EGX 2015 will be no exception," Road to VR said.
First seen at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, the website said it will be the first time the HTC Vive VR headset will be seen in public in the UK. Apart from the debut, Valve's Chris Faliszek will reportedly hold a talk titled "The year ahead in VR" at 3 p.m. on September 24.
Tickets to EGX 2015 are available via the event's official website.
As Franchise Herald previously reported, the Vive VR headset is targeting a late 2015 roll out which HTC has reaffirmed recently. The launch puts it ahead of the Oculus Rift and Sony's Project Morpheus which are both expected to arrive next year.
The Vive runs on Valve's SteamVR platform and makes use of "Room Scale" position tracking tech that allows users to walk around an area of up to 15 feet by 15 feet.
That said, HTC has yet reveal how it plans to immerse players in virtual reality in the audio department.
"With the Oculus Rift's consumer version coming supplied with detachable headphones, HTC are still being coy on the matter," VR Focus said.
At the recently-held Gamescom 2015, Spanish website realovirtual asked the Taiwanese tech firm's Director of Global Marketing and Connected Products Jeff Gattis on the matter.
"We haven't revealed the specs yet - but we are looking at audio solutions, obviously that's an important part of the overall experience."
As to when they might do that, Gattis advised the website to "stay tuned for the fall when [they] can talk about that in much more detail."
Currently on a world tour, the HTC Vive VR headset will also stop at other European cities including Berlin and Cologne, Germany as well as Paris, France.
