Recent "Arrow" season 4 spoiler revealed the new villains audience will get to see square off against Starling City hero Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and the rest of Team Arrow.
There is Anarky and Baron Blitzkrieg who will appear during flashbacks. Although both these villains are as compelling as everyone that appeared before, none is more frightening than Damien Darhk who will be played by Neal McDonough.
Damien Darhk is a former colleague of season three villain Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable). The Head of the Demon spoke highly of Darhk and that alone is enough warning of how evil he can be.
Earlier "Arrow" season 4 spoiler from show's executive producers is selling Damien Darhk as the Prince of Darkness. Executive Producer Wendy Mericle says he is worse than that and the casting of Neal McDonough makes them feel excited.
"He is definitely a super bad-ass, scary guy. We really were excited that we got Neal [McDonough]," Mericle told Collider when asked for "Arrow" season 4 spoiler regarding Damien Darhk.
"We've had Malcolm and we've had Slade. If you start to break it down, they're the villains, but they're the heroes of their own story and you understand why they're doing what they're doing. Damien doesn't have that. Damien is just pure evil. We wanted to explore that. We've never really done a sociopath on the show, and that's what we're exploring this year. That's why we're introducing him so fast and early in the season."
Mericle added that they are changing some elements about Damien Darhk who is not that big in the comics.
"In terms of Damien Dahrk, we had endless very intriguing discussions about who Damien is in the comic books, and how we change him and make him a part of our universe. That part is really fun. It's great to have a starting point, and then figure out how to make them different. That's exciting," she said.
"Arrow" season 4 release date is Oct. 7.
