Difficulty Level: 2.5/5
Strategizing on your own will make you realize more Uber income potential. A very effective Uber hack is to take advantage of "surge fares" - such as "after-club" hours - by logging out of the app just before bars and clubs close.
"Logging out reduces the number of drivers in the area and drives up the fares," the website suggested. "It also prevents you from getting a fare, at say, 1:55 a.m., and missing out on surge pricing."
According to the website, "Uber calculates surge fares based on the ratio of people with the passenger app open to the driver app in an area at any given time."
The Penny Hoarder also recommends Uber drivers to remain around a central location and avoid suburbs as much as possible to realize more income potential.
"[Driving miles and miles to reach someone] means drivers end up losing money on the fare," the website said, adding that late arrivals because of this habit might make passengers cancel the trip.
A Reddit forum also shared some Uber income potential tips to help drivers earn more. Justin Cole of Los Angeles suggested driving within peak hours and checking out some city's events where you can catch some passengers.
He also suggested to hand out your promo code "like candy" and keep promoting Uber driving for your referral bonus.
The most difficult tip will be shared on this same website in the next days, but sure this tip will make you earn as much as $250,000 a year.
