"American Idol" season 15 will be the long-running singing competition's last run, according to Fox executives. However, one judge isn't quite ready to part with the show just yet.
"I will just miss Idol if it doesn't continue after this," Jennifer Lopez reportedly told Billboard when the auditions dropped by Pennsylvania last Sunday. "I don't know; there is a part of me that feels like there is another version of it that is going to happen."
The 46-year-old singer and actress sat on the "Idol" judging panel for three seasons and it seems that she really enjoyed her time on the show.
"It's such an amazing brand and it has come to represent opportunity and dreams and the best part of people," she added as she surveyed the hopefuls at the Pennsylvania Convention Center over the weekend.
She previously shared the same sentiment to People Magazine.
"Do I believe that it's really ending? I have not come to terms with that yet," she said at that time. "I might not."
Aside from being able to watch a future superstar grow and develop his or her talents, Lopez and fellow judges, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., will also be missing the "camaraderie" they built up while being on the show.
"I love being in this ensemble and they are just easy to work with and fun to be around," Urban explained, which Connick agreed to.
"I love Jen and Keith. I love Ryan," he shared. "This is a good group of people, so I'll miss that the most."
Will Fox hear Jennifer Lopez' wish and create a new show with a similar concept after "American Idol" season 15 ends or this really the end of an era?
"Well who knows, man? It is a farewell season and you never know what is going to happen down the road," Urban noted.
The final "American Idol" season will air next year on Fox.
