Well-known car nut and "Top Gear" host Chris Evans will part with £11 million worth of classic cars from his car collection next month.
The radio DJ, who replaces Jeremy Clarkson as the frontman for the BBC motoring show, "has consigned 13 cars to the Bonhams Goodwood Revival Sale including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," according to The Daily Mirror.
The said car is reportedly the same model used in the 1968 children's film which Evans restored in 2012 including its iconic multi-colored "wings."
As per Auto Express, the 1936 replica is estimated to be worth between £250,000 and £350,000.
But with an estimation of £2.6 to 2.9 million, "Top Gear" host Chris Evans' 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB is the most expensive of the car collection. Trailing behind it is a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder expected to fetch between £2.3 and £2.6 million and described as the "most collectible of all."
Evans' Pininfarina-styled 1963 Ferrari 250 GT/L Lusso is expected to fetch between £1.4 and £1.8 million. With only 200 built, the 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS Spyder is a "rare beast" which was reportedly acquired by the new "Top Gear" host at the 2013 Goodwood Revival auction.
Those looking for a bargain should consider the 1963 Ferrari 250 SWB Replica with an estimated value of £500,000 to £600,000. A real one is said to be worth £8 million.
Apart from rare Ferraris, Chris Evans' car collection to be auctioned off next month will include classic Jaguars. One of only 240 alloy-bodied 1949 XK120s imported from the US is estimated to sell at £325,000 to £375,000.
With an estimated worth of £10,000 to £15,000, the bright orange 1983 Fiat 126 Abarth is the most affordable of the lot.
"In refreshing his collection, others will have the opportunity to enjoy Chris' fantastic cars, after all, you never 'own' a classic car, you enjoy it, look after it, and pass it on for others to appreciate," Bonhams Director of Motor cars Sholto Gilbertson said.
