'Godzilla 2' To Bring On 'Bigger' 'Better' Monsters! Aaron Taylor-Johnson Returning To Sequel?

| By

"Godzilla 2" is definitely a go and it will reportedly feature "better" and "bigger" monsters.

In an interview with Collider, screenwriter Max Borenstein revealed that the sequel is now gearing up as he is now working on the script.

"I'm writing it now, and it's really going to be great," Borenstein said of the sequel's progress. "I don't want to go off book and tell you anything that I'm not allowed to tell you. The response to the first film was really exciting, but now that that world is established, we can do bigger and even better things. We're really stoked."

In addition, Borenstein confirmed director Gareth Edwards is still coming back to direct "Godzilla 2" despite being very busy with his "Star Wars" film.

"Yeah, I hope," Borenstein said when asked if he is still collaborating with Edwards. "He's making Star Wars right now, so he's a little preoccupied, but yeah. Gareth is amazing. It's exciting to get to work with him again. One of the fun things about that experience is the same fun that it's been on [Minority Report], where you really get to have your fingers in the pie.

In line with the new update, monsters, Rodan, Ghidora and Mothra were previously introduced in last year's Comic-Con.

There were also rumors claiming that Mechagodzilla could appear in "Godzilla 2" as well.

And while Mechagodzilla rumors have yet to be confirmed, the sequel will also reportedly feature the return of original cast member, Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Taylor-Johnson who recently appered as Quick Silver in "Avengers" shared his knowledge of the movie.

"Our director, Gareth Edwards, is off shooting a 'Star Wars' movie now, so I think, you know, and he was a huge influence on the franchise," the 25-year-old English star who recently played Quicksilver in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" explained.

"So I think they're waiting on Gareth, and then when Gareth gets around, they will all jump in a room, brainstorm, and do their thing. And I don't know if I'd be a part of it, if it would be set somewhere else, if it's going to be in the future. ... It's just kind of, it's just so broad."

"Gozilla 2" is scheduled on June 8, 2018 release date.
