Bandai Namco announced "Dragon Xenoverse" online tournament for all regions.
The online tournament is currently on beta mode until August 13, and will be followed by the "Preliminary Tournament" on Aug. 25 to 30. This phase will determine which player advances to the world championship.
According to Kotaku, layers will accumulate points on this stage in which they will be ranked accordingly. The top 4 players will be qualified to the final battle.
The "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" online tournament was first announced in Japan, and later confirmed for all regions such as North America, Europe and Japan. Players in Australia may compete with North American players.
Siliconera added that players who qualified for the final tournament will be posted on the tournaments 's official website, "along with a special item and icon next to their name."
As for the final "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" online tournament, it will be held on Sept. 05 until Sept. 12. Results will be posted on the official website and players may also view the battles through live-stream, Attack of the Fanboy
Winner of the tournament will not receive any amount of money. Instead, Bandai Namco will award the winner with "all seven dragon balls, a visible badge on their profile so that other players can see that they're incredibly powerful, and apparently, Bandai Namco will use the winning avatars for 'unique themes and backgrounds' for PlayStation consoles, immortalising your character forever," Push Square wrote.
The "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" online tournament is open for Xbox One, PC and PS4 console owners.
Meanwhile, Bandai Namco previously clarified rumors to Game Informer that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" online support has ended.
"BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America is currently looking into the online connectivity and feature set limitation issues that some players may be experiencing with Dragon Ball Xenoverse," Bandai Namco's said to Game Informer.
"Players should expect full online functionality for Dragon Ball Xenoverse to be restored soon. There are no plans to sunset any online features for Dragon Ball Xenoverse at this time."
