Caitlyn Jenner finds it uncomfortable to wear a bathing suit - this was revealed in a new "I Am Cait" promo.
Since her gender reassignment surgery, Jenner has had to face the struggles of transitioning into a woman - coming out into society, getting slapped with thousands of criticism and even (for a while), causing disquiet within her family.
The former Olympian has had to learn how to move around, play sports and even sound like a woman. Now, Caitlyn Jenner finds herself struggling with bathing suits.
During a girls' trip to San Francisco, one of Jenner's friends asked if she has ever been swimming in her bathing suit since her gender transition.
"No. Well, I've been in the bathing suit but I... haven't been in the pool." Jenner said reluctantly. "It's too damn cold right now."
Jenner's friend (who is also a transgender) said it was an "incredible moment" for her the first time she got into a pool wearing a bathing suit.
"That will happen at some point. I'm in no rush. I'm in no rush," Jenner said.
Later on, while her girlfriends are enjoying the jacuzzi in their swimsuits, Jenner finds a quiet place all by herself and records a video, explaining why she does not want to wear a bathing suit and "get in the pool" just yet.
She starts out by saying that unlike her friends who transitioned years ago, Jenner is still trying to adjust to being a woman.
"I just don't know if I'm ready to expose myself like that," Jenner explained. "Maybe down the line, I'll feel more comfortable with myself but right now, I just can't see myself doing it."
"This process of coming out doesn't happen overnight," she said. "There are so many hurdles to overcome. Everyday seems like -" then, she mispronounces "bathing suit."
"See? I can't even say it. It's hard for it just to come out saying 'a bathing suit,'" Jenner said. "But that's where I got to get and it's going to take time."
