She may be one of the fan favorite characters of a highly successful R-rated show but "Game Of Thrones" star Maisie Williams found herself out of sorts during her first ever sexy time on camera.
According to MTV News, this is attributed to the fact that her character in the HBO show, Arya Stark, was actually 12 years old when the show started. The actress herself just turned 18 in real life.
In "Game Of Thrones," Maisie Williams "grew up" when she had to fight for her life by killing people. In the upcoming indie film, on the other hand, she'll be coming of age through in more normal way compared to Arya by losing her virginity.
In the indie film "The Falling," Williams plays a schoolgirl named Lydia, who experiences a sexual awakening in the midst of a mysterious hysteria in an all-girls boarding school.
Set in the 60s, Lydia seeks answers as her classmates succumb to fainting spells in the academy.
When asked about the experience, she told Vulture that it was "extremely awkward!" Thankfully, her partner made the scene a bit more bearable by getting to know her before the actual shoot.
She added that her partner, Joe Cole "was very sensitive to the fact that I had never done a scene like this before, and it was great to work with someone who was so considerate of that."
It seems that going to lunch a couple of times helped her pull off the performance without letting the awkwardness get in the way.
"We went out for a couple of lunches and stuff just to get to know each other, and we had days of rehearsal where we'd get to know our characters and spend a couple of hours with each other," she continued. "So I knew him quite well, and we got along quite well."
Despite the awkwardness during the shoot, the TV star assured that all the lunches they went to "all paid off in the end."
Does this mean that she's already ready for more mature roles in future projects?
