Is The ‘Crimson Peak’ Villain The Sharpe Sibling’s Mother? Funko Just Announced A Huge Clue!

| By

The "Crimson Peak" villain has been a topic of interest ever since the first trailer for Guillermo Del Toro's new gothic horror was released.

Starred by Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowksa, Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam, the identity of the big bad has yet to be revealed.

Even Allerdale Hall, the Sharpe sibling's ancestral home, was pegged as the source of evil. The helmer himself insisted that the house is just a "trap."

Hiddleston, who plays the mysterious Thomas Sharpe, and Chastain, who plays his sister, Lucille, were pegged as the main culprits as well.

However, Funko may have just spoiled the mysterious "Crimson Peak" villain mystery with their new set of POP vinyl for the new film.

According to Dread Central, the new vinyl dolls will be released in September prior to the movie's cinematic release. The new set featured Thomas Sharpe, Edith Cushing and a specter called Mother Ghost.

Funko's press release read, "'Crimson Peak,' the latest cinematic adventure from Legendary Pictures and director Guillermo del Toro, is sure to cause a scare.

Starring Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska, the film follows a young author, Edith Cushing (Wasikowska), as she falls in love with Sir Thomas Sharpe (Hiddleston) to the dismay of Dr. Alan McMichael (Charlie Hunnam), who is madly in love with Edith. The story takes place in a weathered mansion fit for Mother Ghost."

Fashion and Style suggested that this dark entity might just be the Sharpe sibling's own parent. On the other hand, she could be an older resident of the ancestral mansion with territorial issues.

One thing's for sure though, Mother Ghost is important enough to get her own Funko POP!

Meanwhile, HitFix pointed out that this ghost had been featured and hinted at in the trailer already. Although her entire image wasn't shown, the teaser video shows her hands, feet and other bits and pieces of her.

Could she really be the "Crimson Peak" villain or is there another entity behind the entire film?

The gothic horror film will be shown in theaters starting Oct. 16!
