Ben Affleck Had An Awkward Birthday Party With Jennifer Garner? ‘They Looked So Tense’

| By

Newly-divorced couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have been trying Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's "conscious uncoupling" technique, but they seem to be struggling with it.

"They feel like they have to be mature adults for their children's sake and that they will figure out the healthiest way to co-parent," an insider told Us Weekly. "They want the kids' lives to stay the same and to not have to change just because they aren't going to be married anymore."

Despite their split up, the "Daredevil" co-stars still managed to be together as much as they can for their three children Violet (9), Seraphina (6) and Samuel (3).

Just recently, the actor celebrated his 43rd birthday with his ex-wife and their children in Disney World.

According to an eyewitness, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner didn't interact with each other at all.

"They looked so tense and uncomfortable," an onlooker told PEOPLE. "When she was around him, you could see the tenseness. Her shoulders would rise up."

Even when their children are around, the estranged couple still ignored each other.

"There was never a point that all of them were really [interacting] together," the eyewitness revealed. There was even a time that Ben and Jen had to accompany their kids on a ride, but they chose to ride different carts that are near each other.

The Affleck family also celebrated Ben's birthday at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando.

"Neither of them [Jen and Ben] looked too happy," an onlooker said.

However, that didn't stop them from being together for their children's sake.

"As always, it's about the kids and they will always put them first. Everyone had fun," an insider revealed. "All Ben wanted for his birthday was to be with his children." It seems that Ben Affleck's wish came true so maybe the awkwardness with Jennifer Garner doesn't matter much to him anymore.
