Billing itself as the "original hamburger," Johnny Rockets is on a growth trajectory. It has recently opened new locations in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and added two more locations in Mexico, as well as its fifth Massachusetts franchise store.
Worldwide, there are nearly 300 Johnny Rockets locations where the mix of American fare and nostalgic ambience can be found.
Middle East
Franchise partner Haidar Al-Naqeeb, who owns 14 Johnny Rockets in the Middle East, predicted six more openings in the near future. The franchise has been operating on the Arabian Peninsula for over 17 years.
Mexico
President of Johnny Rockets International, Steve Devine, touted the restaurants' "out-of-this-world, feel-good, Americana experience" as its newest locations opened in Mexico. Devine was upbeat about the potential for growth in Mexico.
Ownership
Johnny Rockets was purchased by RedZone Capital Management in 2007, led by Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder. Its stated goals were to grow the chain from 200 to 1,000 locations, and has made progress towards that number with 300 locations currently.
Recently, the firm hired North Point Advisors in order to explore a possible sale of the iconic franchise.
