Again, it seems like Square Enix has disappointed fans with its presentation of "Kingdom Hearts 3" at D23 expo in Anaheim, California.
"There wasn't much other KH3 news, sadly," Kotaku reported of the event. "And there's still no release date for the third Kingdom Hearts game, which was announced at E3 2013."
The only exciting thing that Square Enix has shared about "Kingdom Hearts 3" is the arrival of a "Big Hero 6" world in the game.
Sora and his crew are about to ride the robot Baymax and fight a mysterious masked villain as they travel Big Hero 6 world in "Kingdom Hearts 3."
Unfortunately, Square Enix has also failed to address if the highly anticipated disney characters-themed RPG will include "Star Wars" and Marvel characters.
Fans immediately expressed their disappointment, wondering where the "Star Wars" and Marvel characters are.
"Why the f**k not just a Marvel Comics world!? why is this exclusively Big Hero Six?" a Facebook user said in Kotaku's article.
"Who gives a sh** about Big Hero 6?! It was a good movie, but all I'm saying is Kingdom Hearts 3 better have these FOUR worlds or I'm bouncing on this f***ing game," the other one said.
And while there have been no "Star Wars" and Marvel characters in "Kingdom Hearts 3" footage, Motoring Crunch previously said that Square Enix will at least feature weapons from the movies if not the characters itself.
"Even if the likes of Captain America and Obi Wan Kenobi don't make it into Kingdom Hearts 3, we feel that Square Enix might introduce the weapons from the aforementioned worlds," the gaming publication mentioned.
In addition, Sora is said to "get the ability to wield a light saber," while Goofy will use Captain America's shield to boost his defense.
While fans are obviously disappointed with the new update, "Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura previously revealed details about "Kingdom Hearts 3" gameplay details in an interview with Kingdom Hearts Insider.
"In addition to the Keyblade transformations for Sora, it becomes possible to maneuver using specific forms and actions. There will be many battle choices," he said of the game.
"Take whatever strategy, it will be up to the player. Of course, for those who button mash will have an exhilarating experience but for those who want technical fights will also find fun making combinations."
And while a release date has yet to be scheduled, Square Enix confirmed that "Kingdom Hearts 3" has now jumped to Unreal Engine 4.
"The technology is moving forward a lot," the game designer explained of the switch from Luminous to Unreal Engine according to Eurogamer. "That's something we've learned from the West, I think, in a big way. We're using Unreal Engine 4 right now, and that really has changed the way we make the game."
