Legendary Pictures has certaintly suffered from a set back when Michael Keaton and JK Simmons announced their exit from the upcoming "Kong: Skull Island" movie.
And while the development to the film starring Tom Hiddleston may have taken a back, there are reports suggesting that the two actors' replacements have already been found.
According to Slash Film, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Wilkinson and John C. Reilly are all in talks to star in the prequel of "King Kong."
In addition, "Straight Outta Compton" star Corey Hawkins, who is also appearing in the new season of "The Walking Dead" is said to be in talks to appear in "Kong: Skull Island" as well, Variety has exclusively reported.
If everything goes out as planned, Jackson, Wilkinson, Reilly and Hawkins will be joining Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson in the movie to be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and produced by Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni together with Mary Parent while, Alex Garcia and Eric McLeod to executive produce. Max Borenstein, John Gatins and Dan Gilroy penned the script.
While waiting for shooting, Tom Hiddleston told Red Carpet News TV that he's really excited for the movie.
"Well really it was [director] Jordan Vogt-Roberts has such an extraordinary vision," he said when asked what made him decide to join "Kong: Skull Island" movie.
He continued, "His story which I know he hasn't revealed to anyone yet is 'King Kong' you've never seen before, and it's very ambitious and epic and fresh and new in his vision and design and the characters are amazing. The chance to work with legendary again, who made 'Crimson Peak,' and I love what they did with 'Godzilla,' there are number of things, but it's more of working with Jordan particularly, his idea is amazing and the story and the script and the studio so yeah, it's a very easy yes."

Legendary's story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.
