Coldplay has confirmed a new album and it is reportedly going to be more upbeat and pop and it will be called "A Head Full of Dreams."
While the band did not reveal any details about the said record, a source of Sky News claimed that Coldplay is all set to launch their new album before the year ends.
Apparently, the band is almost done recording for the new album.
"The album is almost finished and the band are keen to get it out as soon as possible," the alleged source revealed.
The new tracks in the album is said to be more upbeat as compared to the band's 2014 record "Ghost Stories," which was reportedly done while frontman Chris Martin and his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow are in the middle of their divorce settlement.
"The last record was so depressing because it was about Chris' split from Gwyneth Paltrow," the source continued. "But the new material is more upbeat with a pop feel."
"They have already finished eight tracks, which are all completely different."
And while everything is reportedly right on track for Coldplay's new album, it will also be the last for the British rock band.
The speculations started when Chris Martin compared the band's upcoming album to the "Harry Potter" series.
"It's our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it's like the last 'Harry Potter' book or something like that," Martin explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something. I have to think of it as the final thing we're doing. Otherwise we wouldn't put everything into it."
With no exact date yet, Coldplay is also rumored to follow the steps of Beyonce as the band is reportedly going to surprise fans with the release.
