Lorde has been one of the most promising artists in today's generation and that has been proven with the success of her "Pure Heroine" album.
Following the phenomenal success of her single "Royals" fans are now asking for a new album from the multi-talented artist.
And in deed, Lorde is working on a new album, which will reportedly feature new sound from her tracks.
In an interview with BBC, the 18-year-old singer song-writer revealed that her new album will definitely feature more mature songs compared to the tracks from her "Pure Heroine" album.
"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," Lorde said of her last album. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."
"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like' ... I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."
And while there's no specific plans for her new album yet, Lorde revealed that she is already spending time in the studio working on new songs and looking for inspiration to write.
"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff. You work and at some point you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."
Lorde also took to Tumblr to express her excitement. And while she is excited she confessed that she's also scared about how her new album would turn out.
"I'm just getting into making the next body of work, which is very exciting and scary but SO VALIDATING (I also went to a wild beautiful fashion ball last night which maybe I'll elaborate on in another post)," she said.
