Xiaomi Sets Another World Record, Sold Over 800,000 Redmi Note 2 In 12 Hours

Xioami sets another world record for selling over 800,000 Redmi Note 2.

According to NDTV, Chinese tech company announced the success of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2's first flash sale in China which has been sold out in just 12 hours.

It has made another record in domestic mobile sales following its Guinness book of World records for its 2.11 million sales of Xioaomi handsets in 24 hours.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was incredibly worth every penny as it is powered by Mediatek Helio X10 octa-core Cortex A53 clocked at 2.2GHz- used in some devices which are priced way higher than Xiaomi's latest mid-range device, it is paired with 2GB of RAM and an onboard 16GB of storage, Android Authority reported.

In addition, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display. On the camera side, it has a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. It measures 152mm x 76mm x 8.25mm and backed up by a 3,020 mAh battery.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has two connectivity variants, it features dual-SIM handset in which both sim support 4G connectivity and a 4G-3G combination, "priced at 899 Yuan (approx. Rs 9,200) and 799 Yuan (approx. Rs 8,200) respectively," according to First Post.

On the other hand, the 32GB variant called the Xioami Redmi Note 2 Prime is priced at 999 Yuan (Rs 10,200).

Aside from its powerful specs, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and the Redmi Note 2 Prime both run on Xiaomi's newest MIUI 7.

The Xiaomi MIUI 7 is slated to launch in India on Aug. 19, while the second flash sale will be on Aug. 24 in China.

Currently, the Xioami MIUI 7 has started to roll out in China for the Xiaomi Mi2, Mi2S, Mi 2A, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Redmi and Redmi Note, and its international release is expected to roll out after its launch in India, IB Times added.
