Microsoft started to roll out Xbox One's firmware update for August.
Earlier today, Xbox's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb announced on Twitter that Xbox Once console owners will receive a new firmware update tonight, Gottabemobile reported.
"Xbox One Update coming tonight. No major features but includes small fixes to party chat and prep for the new UI coming later this year," Major Nelson posted on Twitter.
The Xbox One firmware update, 6.2.13326.0, for August delivers minor fix on its party chat feature and prepares the console on the upcoming new Xbox One UI-which brings "overhaul" experience, whereas the it will also support DirectX 12 in its next major Xbox One firmware update, Phil Spencer recently confirmed, according to Kotaku.
"The Xbox team is hard at work building and fine tuning the new Xbox One user experience that will be unveiled to the preview community this Fall. This update will help us to get your console ready to receive the new experience," stated on the patch notes revealed by MajorNelson,Gearnuke reported.
ShackNews added that the new UI will be user-friendly as it is being said to be "50% faster" than the current UI and allows easy access to different features.
Ahead of the its official launch, Microsoft revealed the new Xbox One UI at Gamescon 2015, and "looks pretty cool," Attack of the Fanboy reported.
The new UI will be made available for the Xbox One Preview Program members on September, and will be released in November 20115. Also, the Xbox One backwards compatibility is due on Fall and is expected to go official along with the new UI.
Xbox One consoles owners may now download the Xbox One firmware update for the month of August by checking Xbox One's Settings app for software update, while Xbox One consoles on Instant-On power mode while turned off will automatically search for the update.
