Tebow Trade Rumors Build Up, Who’s Interested?

| By

The New York Jets plans to hold on to Tim Tebow up to the start of the new league year hoping that they can trade him, ESPN reported citing league sources.

However, according to ESPN, no one seems to be much interest in the Philippines-born American quarterback. In fact, one NFL general manager was cited to have said this week: "I think his career is over without playing another position."

Even the Jacksonville Jaguars who had once expressed interest in the former Denver star, seems to have changed their hearts. “I can't imagine a scenario in which he'll be a Jacksonville Jaguar -- even if he's released,” new Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said.

The first day the Jets would be able to trade Tebow would be March 12, and they want to see if there's any other team out there willing to surrender a mid- to late-round draft pick for the quarterback who helped the Denver Broncos win a playoff game last season.

Perhaps team owner Woody Johnson wants to do to someone else what he claims was done to him; force Tebow on someone else. The guy can’t catch a break, even on Super Bowl Sunday. Any team not hiding under a rock or working hard to get to the Super Bowl saw the drama unfold between Tebow and the Jets. Are they willing to go through the same thing next season?

At least there seems to be someone in the Jets organization who does not place all the blame on Tebow. According to Schefter, there are members of the Jets organization who regret not giving the quarterback the chance to prove whether he was worth the deal.
