Rihanna will be joining "The Voice" in its 9th season according to reports. Things just get bigger and better with the hit NBC singing contest, doesn't it?
Contrary to some reports, however, Rihanna will be joining in as a key advisor to "The Voice" contestants, not as a judge.
"We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall," NBC Chairman Bob Greenblat announced Tuesday. "This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers."
The "B***h Better Have My Money" singer will be joining Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrel Williams and Gwen Stefani in the 9th Season.
Stefani, who returns to the show after a short hiatus, will be replacing Christina Aguilera in her red swiveling chair.
According to reports, Aguilera is leaving the show for the time being to "focus on being a mom and new music."
"Christina is confirmed for Season 10 and has already signed her contract," a source for US Magazine said. "She has been very vocal about not doing Season 9 to take a break to spend time with her family and her kids,"
"She always planned to flip them so she had a season off and she is not being replaced by Gwen. She will definitely be back the next season," the source added.
In addition, Carson Daly will also be making a come-back when the show returns this fall.
"With such an astounding group of coaches at the peak of their musical ingenuity and Carson returning as our host, we are thrilled for what season nine will bring," President of NBC Entertainment's alternative programming, Paul Telegdy said.
"The expertise and camaraderie of this panel will provide an immeasurable experience for the artists and must-see entertainment for all who are watching."
