Britney Spears will be joining "Jane The Virgin" season 2 and she's going to be pitted against Rogelio De La Vega himself!
The pop star announced her involvement in the second season of the award-winning CW series through Twitter and the show's cast couldn't contain their excitement.
"See u at the Marbella Hotel soon, @hereisgina @jaimecamil! Guest starring on one of my favorite shows EVER @CWJaneTheVirgin #DreamComeTrue," the "Pretty Girls" singer excitedly posted.
Executive producer and headwriter, Jennie Snyder Urman, expressed her pleasure at casting Spears as Rogelio's "nemesis."
"We are so thrilled that Rogelio's 'nemesis' - Britney Spears - has agreed to appear on 'Jane The Virgin' in episode 205," she reportedly said in a statement, according to Variety.
Apparently, Spears has a "long standing feud" with Jane's father and she would be appearing on the show to settle things once and for all.
Urman added, "Personally, after hearing about their long standing feud (from Rogelio's point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears' side of the story, which we assume is quite different. #TeamBritney."
She reportedly expanded on Tuesday during the Television Critics Association that the "quality of their interaction is in dispute of what Rogelio thinks and what Britney thinks."
Meanwhile, Britney Spears' cameo on "Jane The Virgin" season 2 actually surprised the cast.
"Literally fell out my chair @britneyspears I cannot wait to work with you beauty! I'm covered in goosebumps. This is unreal!!!" Gina Rodriguez, who plays the titular Jane, tweeted, with Spears' replying that she was "soooooo excited!"
Others cast members were delighted with the casting, too.
"You're the absolute best @britneyspears! It'll be a great honor to have you on the show! #DreamComeTrue for us," Rogelio, himself, (Jaime Camil) also shared on Twitter.
On the other hand, Justin Baldoni, who plays Jane's love interest Raphael Solano, gave the musician a fare warning.
"Welcome to the Show @britneyspears!! Please don't be weirded out when you see my #hitmebabyonemoretime poster," he said.
Viewers can see Britney Spears on "Jane The Virgin" season 2 when it airs this Oct. 12.
