"Empire" season 2 premiere episode will start with lead character Lucius Lyon (Terrence Howard) inside a prison.
Pretty much all of his family has turned their backs on him. The only left on his side is Jamal (Jussie Smollett) who is also handling his Empire Entertainment company.
Life away from family is hard, much more the life in prison. Good thing there is another person that's keeping him firm on his feet.
Entertainment Weekly reported real life reverend Al Sharpton will guest star in "Empire" season 2 premiere and he will play as himself. Sharpton is joined by fashion guru Andre Leon Talley in the show's growing guest star list.
"It helps to have friends in high places. Empire's imprisoned patriarch Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) will get the support of two very powerful real-life figures in the season 2 premiere: EW can exclusively reveal that Reverend Al Sharpton and fashion icon André Leon Talley will both appear when the Fox hit returns on Sept. 22.
"The pair will show their support for the embattled music CEO at an epic, outdoor "Free Lucious" concert, seen in promos for the show."
"Empire" season 2 premiere episode will pick up just few months from where it left off in its first season finale. The Lyon clan has been divided with Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and sons Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) and Andre (Trai Byers) teaming up versus current Empire Entertainment CEO Jamal and Lucius who probably has some connections working for him.
Aside from budding war between brothers, another thing fans can expect in the Fox musical drama is the appearances of several elite music and movie stars.
Among them are Marissa Tomei, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Chris Rock, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Mariah Carey, Common, Oprah Winfrey, Pitbull, and Becky G.
"Empire" season 2 premiere episode will air on September 23. The first season debut in January this year.
