Skype For Business Arriving To Android And iOS Devices; Mircosoft Will Roll Out Preview Program Soon

Skype for Business preview set to arrive on Android and iOS devices.

Microsoft announced that IT admins, who wished to join the preview program, may can sign up for the on the dedicated Skype Preview page, where they can nominate eight iOS and Android users- up to four on each device.

"They need to apply by this Friday to be part of the first batch of users," The Inquirer reported. PC World added that, Microsoft will the review the nominations and will select who will join the group of testers.

"The Preview programme provides early access to new Skype for Business features," Microsoft said.

"It enables your organisation to get a sneak peek at what's coming and to test the new features in your own environment and give feedback before we release to the general public."

PC World reported that Skype for Business was already officially available for Windows PC followed by its launch for Windows phone last month.

While its Android and iOS version will be released later this year, and users with Lync 2013 app for iOS or Android along with Skype for Business Server 2015 and Skype for Business Online will be automatically upgraded.

Skype for Business features easier navigation functionality for its users. According to TNW, it brings a "simple dashboard interface" in which updated contact search is accessible for user's global address list for first names, last names, email addresses, or phone numbers, while phone contacts for iOS users have been included in the search capabilities.

Business Standard added that users may also access read more information on meetings, or click 'Quick Join' to enter an ongoing session immediately.

For its calling feature, buttons for muting have been made larger, adding participants and managing the users calls.

In addition, switching between video and text has been more convenient as both screens appear on the screen simultaneously.
