One Direction’s Liam Payne Made Burger King Create Spiciest Menu Item Yet

| By

Social media is becoming more powerful these days, especially when an apparently miswritten tweet of One Direction's Liam Payne has reportedly urged Burger King to make a spicy chicken fries.

This is the first time Burger King created this kind of spicy chicken fries, known as the "Fiery Chicken Fries."

ABC News provided a blow-by-blow account on how Liam Payne's tweet probably prompted the burger food chain to make the spiciest chicken fries in its menu yet.

The report said Burger King decided to revive the spicy fries after seeing how people wanted them on social media, including the serendipitous tweet of the One Direction singer.

Eric Hirschhorn, the chief marketing officer of the chain's North American consumer said that the return of the Burger King spicy chicken fries was due to the tweet of Liam Payne. The singer posted on Twitter, "I'm so fulllllll!!! Think I just ate my body weight in chicken fries and sides owwwwww."

Earning some 94,000 retweets according to ABC News, Liam Payne's chicken fries tweet was a typo "because Burger King hadn't yet brought back chicken fries" since 2012 when the original flavored chicken fries were made.

"That raises the possibility that Payne just left out a comma, and meant to say he ate chicken and fries - not chicken fries," the report added.

'Offensive' flavor

"We wanted to create something as spicy... that it may even offend you," the chief marketing officer said on the Burger King spicy chicken fries.

Website The Street tried to do a taste test to prove that the new menu item is really that "offensive."

Upon tasting the Burger King spicy chicken fries, the website said it is "tame on the tongue" in the beginning with a little kick. But as more is consumed, they said the spice builds up in the back of the month, not to mention the "residual spiciness" due to the breading's back pepper.

"It's the spiciest innovation we ever had at Burger King," said Hirschhorn.
