Rapper Rick Ross survived an accident when his Rolls Royce was hit with bullets and crashed into an apartment building as he celebrated his 37th birthday, according to reports.
The Miami based rapper staggered from his car along with a female companion after the attack in the early hours of Monday morning.
Beth Balk, a waitress at the nearby Floridian Restaurant, woke up to the sounds of a car crashing into her apartment building after police were called about reports of gunfire said Ross was one of two people inside the vehicle, according to the Sun Sentinel.
The incident began about 5 a.m. with reports of shots being fired along Las Olas Boulevard, according to Detective DeAnna Garcia.
"An unknown vehicle shot a couple of rounds," Garcia said. "The vehicle was not struck."
But one of the bullets appeared to have entered a front window of The Floridian diner, a 24-hour landmark on Las Olas.
According to NBC Miami, Ross sped away as another vehicle opened fire at his car, sending it off the road.
Authorities confirmed that neither Ross, 37, whose real name is William L. Roberts, nor his passenger Shateria L. Moragne-el, 28, was injured. Initially Ross and his companion were not named because they were "fearful for their lives," police said.
