Microsoft released the initial list of Lumia devices that will receive the Windods 10 update for mobile platforms.
Ahead of Windows 10's official launch, Microsoft already confirmed on Twitter that "there will be windows 10 upgrades for all Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices."
Here's the complete list of Lumia devices confirmed to get the Windos 10 update, IB Times reported:
US "Our newest Lumia smartphones - the Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 430 Dual SIM - will receive a free upgrade to Windows 10″
UK "The following Lumia smartphones will receive a free upgrade when available: Lumia 435, Lumia 535, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930."
Rest of World "Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930."
Meanwhile, WMpoweruser speculates that Lumia devices with 512MB of RAM might not receive the update based on the list of the first wave of Lumia devices receiving the update some time in Fall 2015.
Some of the Lumia phones that seem to be excluded from the list with 512MB are Lumia 520, Lumia 630/635, and the flagship device Lumia 1520- which boasts features almost the same as the Lumia 930 specs, IB Times continued.
Meanwhile, Windows 10 on Beta mode with its recently launched Build 10149 which introduces Microsoft Edge browser, "refinement on the general user experience or UX such as clearer and crisper Start Screen, Cortana improvements including Quiet Hours for Cortana's Notebook, Flashlight quick action in the Action Center, updates for the Photos app and automatic camera upload via OneDrive cloud storage system," China Box reported.
Also, the Windows 10 Build 10149 brings minor fixes on SMS and call filtering after its previous Build, "no text notifications appearing for incoming SMS, malfunctioning Podcast app, issues on installing or updating at the Store Beta and unable to hide the navigation bar."
