[WATCH] ‘Heroes Reborn’ Prequel Webseries ‘Dark Matters’ Here! Who Is Phoebe Frady?

| By

Although executive producer Tim Kring promised that fans of the original "Heroes" series and new viewers of the reboot will be able to follow the story, NBC still released the "Heroes Reborn" prequel webseries titled "Dark Matters."

The web episodes will reportedly bridge the gap between the time Claire Bennett jumped off a ferris wheel to show her power to the world and the start of "Heroes Reborn."

"Dark Matters" is a six-episode webseries chronicling the life of an EVO (evolved human), Pheobe Frady. His half-brother, Quentin, is revealed to be the mysterious man who approached Noah Bennett in the recently released trailer.

The online series also features a mysterious hooded man who calls out EVOs to stand up against discrimination and to own up to their powers.

The "Heroes Reborn" prequel webseries, "Dark Matters," happened two years before the reboot. Here is the summary according to NBC:

"It's been five years since the public became aware of the existence of evolved humans or 'EVOs' who possess incredible, supernatural abilities. In that time, the public has grown to either fear or revere EVOs. An online community forms around the rallying cry of the anonymous Hero_Truther, who seeks to humanize EVOs in the wake of lies, slander and fear mongering. Among those posting their personal stories is Phoebe Frady (Aislinn Paul, 'Degrassi: The Next Generation'), who is encouraged to document her origin story by her brother, Quentin (Henry Zebrowski, 'A to Z'). But as Phoebe struggles to control her power, she attracts unwanted attention from a mysterious new company."

Originally available in the "Heroes Reborn" app, the show has since posted the videos on its official Youtube channel for public consumption.

The 13-episode revival will premiere on Sept. 24 at 8 PM, on NBC.
