In Marvel's "Jessica Jones" Netflix series, the titular character played by Krysten Ritter has retired from being a superhero. But showrunner Melissa Rosenberg said audiences may still see her in superhero garb.
"We're going to hit on that! We're going to hit on it!" Rosenberg told ETOnline at the 2015 Summer TCA Press Tour. Allegedly, Ritter could don either of her failed superhero alter egos, namely: Jewel or Knightress.
The circumstances behind the wardrobe choice remain a mystery as Rosenberg is tight-lipped on details only teasing that they'll be "glancing off it."
The 33-year-old actress' performance has already been praised by Jessica Jones co-creator Brian Michael Bendis as reported by Franchise Herald previously and the Netflix series boss did the same.
"We pushed her to some really dark, emotional places and she just keeps going there. She's got incredible range!"
Also at the 2015 Summer TCA Press Tour, the Marvel's "Jessica Jones" Netflix series showrunner dropped news that makes a "Daredevil" crossover official and adds another female presence apart from star Krysten Ritter's.
"I think I'm allowed to say: Rosario Dawson will be dropping in," she confirmed.
Apart from Claire Temple, "smaller characters that populated that world will be popping in" as well, according to Rosenberg.
Despite sharing characters and locations, fans should still expect different things from "Jessica Jones" and "Daredevil."
The "psychological thriller," as Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb put it, will have "plenty of action," Rosenberg said "but it's not all about the action."
"It's about the character, it's about her emotional arc."
As for the kind of action fans can expect from the Krysten Ritter-starrer, Rosenberg said there won't be much lurking in the dark for the superhero-turned-investigator.
"She's not a ninja. She never studies martial arts. She's a brawler. You piss her off and boom! You're down!"
Unlike the Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones is "not out to save the city," Rosenberg added.
"She's out to make rent."
