After being quiet for quite some time, Dave Matthews Band is reportedly getting ready for their new album.
In addition to their tour, the American rock band is also reportedly going to work on new tracks for their upcoming record.
And while Dave Matthews Band has yet to figure out when they plan to release their new album, the band revealed that they have already recording some of the songs already.
"I've been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun," the band's frontman said, as reported by Relix. "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past."
"I think we are unique and a pretty badass band - maybe a little creakier than we once were," he explained. "We are cursed and blessed with the fact that if you want to see what the band is like and get to know us, then you have to see us live or at least listen."
Dave Matthews also revealed that fans could expect new and old unreleased tracks for their new album, tracks which they performed during their tour but were never recorded.
"There are some songs the band has been playing for a long time," he hinted. "And then whenever I start messing around in the studio, I start writing, so hopefully we can come up with something worth listening to."
And while they will reportedly introduce new music Dave Matthews said in a previous interview with Rolling Stone that they will offer something that's not going to sound too way back in the past.
"I've been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun," Matthews said. "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past."
