Michelle Kwan, the nine-time U.S. national figure skating champion and five-time world champion, marries longtime beau Clay Pell in Rhode Island in front of 240 family members and friends.
At the end of her bronze-medal finish at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games, nine-time U.S. national figure skating champion and five-time world champion Michelle Kwan skated to "Fields of Gold" as her Olympic swan song.
Kwan wore an ivory Vera Wang dress during the ceremony Saturday, People reported.
Fellow Olympic figure skating champions Brian Boitano, Dick Button and Dorothy Hamill were in attendance.
"You could feel the love Michelle and Clay have for each other," a guest at the wedding said. "They are truly a perfect match."
Before 240 family and friends, including Olympic champions Brian Boitano, Dick Button and Dorothy Hamill, the two shared their self-written vows.
Pell, the director for strategic planning on the National Security staff at the White House and a JAG and lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard, was dressed in full uniform.
As Kwan, now a senior advisor for public diplomacy and public affairs, told PEOPLE in September following their engagement, "I never was one who believed in love at first sight, but I have to admit it happened for us. I felt there was a magnetic connection between us. I thought he was the one from the beginning."
