'Gotham' Season 2 Spoiler: Will James Gordon And Barbara Get Back Together?

| By

With the rise of the villains in "Gotham" season 2 and blooming romance with Dr. Leslie Thompkins, is there still room in the heart of Det. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) for former wife Barbara (Erin Richards)?

Recent "Gotham" season 2 spoiler revealed the city will be swarmed with bad guys. This means more work for the one tough detective.

The question if they will get back together is important since in the comics, they ended up becoming husband and wife. For Erin Richards, Barbara and James getting back together remains a big question. However, it will be hard for Jim to not care.

"Jim still has a bit of a weak spot for her. He's still willing to try to help her," Richards told Comic Book Resources when asked about a "Gotham" season 2 spoiler about Jim and Barbara romance.

"I think her actions are quite intense in what she does. I don't know how that's going to play out in the long run. They have something -- there's something really dark in Jim, so he's going to see that in her. You know when two people get together and there's something from their past that is similar in real life? You have that with someone. You sort of mesh with those people. That's what is happening with those two. They might not be right for each other right now, but they are drawn to each other, like magnets."

Earlier "Gotham" season 2 spoiler said Barbara will spiral down into insanity after what happened to her in the first season.

She will even get admitted into the Arkham Asylum. Richards said her character being checked into an institution for the insane is just the start. There are still some dark layers of her character that is about to be unveiled.

"She starts Season Two with being taken into Arkham Asylum. She kind of swans in there with this fun little dress on, like she's going to the spa. She has no concept of what's happening -- no, she does. She goes into Arkham and she meets all these characters, one of which is Jerome. These characters are going to shape her a little bit. They all shape the way Barbara develops in this series," she said.
