The biggest "Gotham" season 2 spoiler in recent weeks is about Cameron Monaghan's Jerome Valeska who is being advertised, or not, as the Joker.
Monaghan's brilliant portrayal of insane youngster was praised by critics and so for the second season, he was given a multi-episode arc. It is not just Jerome who is going to get long-story arc in "Gotham" season 2, even Barbara Gordon (Erin Richards).
Jerome and Barbara are not really connected in the show. However, it seems there is a possibility they will cross paths in the second season.
Previous "Gotham" season 2 spoiler said Erin Richards' character will be put in Arkham Asylum where Jerome has already been admitted.
In the comics the Joker and Harley Quinn always come as a package and questions are arising whether Barbara will become Harley Quinn. This might not sit well with solid fans since Harley Quinn is much younger than Bruce Wayne (played in the show by David Mazouz). For Richards though, turning Barbara into Harley Quinn would be fun.
"I have read that. I thought that would be really fun. She could be anything right now. She has so many options available to her. She could be her own villain. It would be fun, but I'd like to see how Margot Robbie is going to come out with that one. She'll be great," Richards said in an interview with Comic Book Resources when asked about "Gotham" season 2 spoiler concerning Barbara becoming Harley Quinn.
In earlier "Gotham" season 2 spoiler, Ben McKenzie, who plays Barbara's ex boyfriend and lead character James Gordon, said Richards' character is entering a darker phase. Barbara is getting darker but will that insanity turn her into a full-time villain? Richards likes the idea.
"That would be fun. Why not? I think these characters are so in-the-moment. We're not looking ahead. I'm not thinking of who she might become. I secretly hope she would become the Joker. I'm having so much fun playing her right now," she said.
"Gotham" season 2 premiere episode will air on September 21.
