"The Last Man on Earth" season 2 premiere is coming in approximately one month from now.
The show will pick up shortly from where it left off in last season's finale wherein Phil Tandy (Will Forte) and Carol Andrew Pilbasian (Kristen Schaal) having arrived to an understanding that they are better off with each other.
However, one big question is still hanging. What about the characters who also endeared to fans?
Phil and Carol are miles away from Tucson where they first met and left other surviving persons like Melissa (January Jones), Todd (Mel Rodriguez), and more.
Since the story tells the story of Phil, fans think Jones' character will be left out in "The Last Man on Earth" premiere.
Executive producer Chris Miller was asked about the whereabouts of Jones' character during the recent Television Critics Association panel and his answer is quite vague. He did confirm Phil and Carol are together but are far away from Tucson.
"I will say that Phil and Carol are in one place at the very beginning," Chris Miller said. "January is in another place. I will also say that the majority of this season does not take place in Tucson."
The first season had Phil appointed as the president of the United States. He no longer has the title but in the second season, it seems he will get to see him visit the quarters of the POTUS as Miller said White House will be involved in the story.
"I can say that the White House will be involved in some way," he said.
"There are some definite hijinks going on at the White House," Will Forte added. "Not the typical stuff you probably see in the White House. It's our version of what would happen in the White House if you were two of the only people on Earth."
"The Last Man on Earth" season 2 premiere episode will air on September 27.
