She may have not placed when she competed in the Miss USA 2010 pageant, but Rima Fakih proved she is also a dance floor diva when she participated in "Dancing With The Stars" in Lebanon.
Rima Fakih joined "Dancing With The Stars" Season 3 along with 12 other celebrities, which was shown in many parts of the Middle East.
During the show, the 29-year-old beauty queen rocked the stage dancing various genres, such as the Cha-cha, Tango and Foxtrot. She earned a couple of standing ovations in some of her performances as seen on her videos.
When asked what her most favorite dance routine was, she said in one interview it was the Foxtrot. Reports said in one episode where Rima Fakih danced the Foxtrot on "Dancing With The Stars," she earned a high score of 39 out of 40.
"You don't know who you are until you know where you came from," Rima Fakih said in the "Dancing With The Stars" official profile. This is said to be the quote that her dad raised her to imbibe.
Her profile added that she volunteered at the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, a community organization aiming to take away to stereotypes the U.S. brings to its Arab immigrants.
Around five years prior to Rima Fakih's "Dancing With The Stars" stint, she was crowned as the first Arab-American and Muslim to win Miss USA.
She reportedly sold her car to fund her participation in the state pageant in Michigan, her Miss USA profile said. Fortunately, she won and went on to represent her home state in the national pageant. She failed to advance in the semi-finals during the Miss Universe 2010 pageant.
She was born in a small village in Lebanon and moved to the U.S. with her family back in 1993, her profile added.
During a Tango performance with professional dancing partner Raed Mourad, Rima Fakih reportedly earned a standing ovation in "Dancing With The Stars."
