Just weeks before its premiere, AMC has launched new "Fear The Walking Dead" video showing behind-the-scenes footage where audiences can see Los Angeles at the brink of the zombie apocalypse.
"The biggest takeaway from the 'Fear The Walking Dead' teaser is 'The Walking Dead' fans will likely enjoy knowing more than the characters in the show," iDigitalTimes said.
"These people, for example, don't know that to kill the zombie they must destroy the brain. They also don't know what they are dealing with are zombies."
Last month, Franchise Herald reported that showrunner David Alpert said misinformation will be an "essential element" to "Fear's" plot. Co-creator Dave Erickson added that people will be "swimming in a lot of confusion."
Central to the spinoff's plot is the "dysfunctional blended family" of Madison (Kim Dickens), her boyfriend Travis (Cliff Curtis), her kids Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and Nick (Frank Dillane) along with Travis' ex-wife Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and son Christopher (Lorenzo James Henrie).
The "Fear The Walking Dead" video from AMC gave a closer look at the show's characters.
Erickson described the "Walking Dead" spinoff as a "family drama" set against the fall of humanity as a viral outbreak unfolds in the City of Angels.
"The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down," Coming Soon said.
"A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories."
Although the spinoff is set during the start of the outbreak, EP David Alpert said audiences won't get to see what caused it. However, they "will get a sense of first responders when they went sideways and what they did to protect their families," as Franchise Herald reported.
The "Fear The Walking Dead" video from AMC teases the show's 90-minute premiere on Sunday, August 23.
