After saying that the BBC motoring show needs "a woman's angle," Jodie Kidd was reportedly seen having lunch with "Top Gear" new host Chris Evans.
"The pair were spotted lunching at celebrity haunt The Ivy with fellow TV luvvie, Zoe Ball in what The Sun are claiming was a 'secret meeting,'" The Daily Mirror said.
As Franchise Herald reported last month, Evans said they're getting ready to reveal who his co-presenters will be.
Kidd, a friend of former "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson who was sacked after a "fracas" with a producer, told The Daily Mail that the show should "definitely" have a female presenter.
"Women are buying cars - it's the norm - so you need a woman's angle. Because we're different, men and women, and it's great to listen to a car expert who is a woman."
Back in June, The Daily Mirror reported that "Top Gear" new host Chris Evans already said he wants a woman co-presenting with him. Since then, supermodel Jodie Kidd and F1 host Suzi Perry have been rumored for the hosting gig.
Kidd is no stranger to the car scene. The mother of one is the current host of Channel 5's "The Classic Car Show" and has admitted she's a "massive fan" of the BBC motoring show.
Fans may also recall that the 36-year-old set the fastest lap time around the "Top Gear" track when she appeared in the show's "Star In A Reasonably-Priced Car" segment back in 2003.
Despite being the bookies' top pick for the "Top Gear" gig, Kidd said she hasn't signed on the dotted line.
"I was a massive fan of 'Top Gear,' but I have no news to share on the new programme," she said last month.
But with a recent "secret meeting" with "Top Gear's" Chris Evans, is Jodie Kidd finally on board? The Daily Mirror said filming to "start imminently but there has been no new news."
