Kobe Bryant To Play In China After NBA Retirement? Lakers Star Said He Could See Himself Doing That

| By

Kobe Bryant retirement will not happen this season. This is something he himself assured in an interview with Yahoo.

The Los Angeles Lakers star said it will be hard to judge whether his body can still take the rigorous challenges of the game until he gets to play official minutes. Kobe Bryant sat out most of the 2014-15 season and he is excited to play again.

Fans have to calm down because Kobe Bryant retirement from the game will not happen this season. However, if it is about his decision to step out of the NBA, there is a possibility.

On the same interview, he said he can see himself playing in China where he has a huge fan base (he even has his own statue there) or Italy where he grew up when his father was still playing professional basketball there.

"I can see myself doing that. I can see myself doing a lot of stuff. That's a whole other question. I will make some decisions when I decide to hang it up," Kobe Bryant said when asked by Marc Spears if he can see himself playing in either of the two countries.

Kobe Bryant also shared in the interview what motivates him to continue playing. And to stop rumors of his retirement spread, the Los Angeles Lakers star said it was never about money.

"Zero. Zero. I've never played for the money. It's never moved me. Money can come and go. I have a perspective about finances. The family is fine. What is more money going to bring other than more money? I have my family, I have my health and we're comfortable financially and that is a massive blessing," he said when asked about the huge amount of money he can take if he goes to free agency when his contract with Los Angeles Lakers expires.

"I don't want to undervalue the importance of generating any type of whatever. I don't want to make it sound like I'm underappreciative of that or not thankful for that. But at the same, what is really important? What is the important thing? I never played for money. When I laced my sneakers up when I was a kid in Italy I wasn't thinking about money. I had no idea how much Magic [Johnson] or [Larry] Bird got paid. I played it because I loved it."
