'Terminator Genisys' Sequel To Feature A Major Plot Twist As Jai Courtney Talks About His Character Kyle Reese

| By

Despite a not so impressive performance in the box office, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the rest of the team are reportedly returning for a "Terminator Genisys" sequel, Screen Rant confirmed.

And while the release date to the said sequel is reportedly not until 2017, actor Jai Courtney, who played the role of Kyle Reese in the franchise, has shared details about his characters that could possibly mean some major plot twists as well.

After successfully saving Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and basically the world from the cyborgs, Kyle Reese might just end up being a bad guy in "Terminator Genisys" sequel.

"I would normally kind of dance around that, but when you can be sort of unforgivingly nasty, it's fun," he said about being a villain in an interview with Screenrant . "It's tougher to play a good guy."

And when asked about plot details, Courtney was quick to shrugg off the question, insisting that he has no knowledge about it as of now.

"I don't know," he said. "Look. That stuff's a long way away. I know there are people who know exactly where they want this to go from a narrative point of view."

"But yeah, look," he added. "Who knows? We'll wait and see. And if we're back doing this soon, then I'll be stoked."

"I think the nods to the early movies," Courtney continued. "There's some cheeky little recreations, like shot for shot stuff of a couple little sequences which I think fans will get a kick out of."

However, he managed to give some sort of idea as to what fans could expect in the upcoming "Terminator Genisys" sequel.

"Also, the way we kind of destroy everything that they know about it at the same time and that's the direction we're taking it in," he also said.

"There's choices that, perhaps, are sacrilege within this, but I think it provides potential for really sort of juicy plot from this point on," the actor concluded.

Furthermore, the ending of "Terminator Genisys" has reportedly been hinting fans to a sequel.

In fact "Terminator Genisys," director Aaron Taylor previously discussed the possibility of a new trilogy.

"It was always there as a kind of gateway - to further developments it's precisely a kind of, 'it's not over yet' moment. On the one hand, it's one of the things that points to there being further chapters. On the other hand, this is a kind of franchise where I don't think anybody really believes that you're going to end up neatly or happily. So, when our heroes drive off into the sunset and we think, well that went well. There's still going to be a nagging feeling that wait, it's not that easy."
