Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaked images aren't new anymore but what separates the latest one is that they could have originated from an official source.
"Prolific phone leaker Evan Blass has released what's said to be official press renders of [the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus]," The Verge reported.
Notably, both devices look almost identical, not only to each other, but to the current generation S6 and S6 edge flagships as well.
"The only clear difference is the S Pen casually balanced on the left side of the Note 5, like it's the peripheral 'funny guy' character in a 90s sitcom," Forbes said.
SamMobile further speculated that both devices "seem to have similar dimensions."
Accompanying the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaked images is another tweet also from Blass, this time detailing the upcoming device's specs.
Reportedly, Noble as it is known internally, will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The device is said to come with a 16MP rear shooter and a 5MP front shooter and run on Android 5.1.1 at launch. Blass also said the Note 5 will be rocking the same 5.66-inch 2,560 x 1,440 display as its predecessor.
Owing to its glass rear panel, the Note 5 allegedly won't come with a removable battery or a microSD card slot. Asked why Samsung would stick to a design that received flak from users, Blass speculated that the Korean tech firm may have already planned and put it into production long before it drew criticism.
Traditionally launched at Berlin's IFA event in September, it has been rumored that the Galaxy Note 5 release date has been moved up to this month. And it looks like that's the case as Samsung has already sent out invites to the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York on Thursday, August 13, according to SamMobile.
By then, the world will see if the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaked images and specs are indeed true.
