‘Heroes Reborn’ Series Will Have A ‘Brand New Idea’! Can Old Fans Still Follow New Story?

| By

Fans will definitely be comparing the "Heroes Reborn" series to its cult classic predecessor when it airs this Sept. 24.

Will it be just another copy of "Heroes" or will it give something new to its audience?

While familiar faces will be coming back - Noah Bennet, The Haitian, Hiro Nakamura, Mohinder Suresh, Matt Parkman and even Micah Sanders! - to grace viewers' TV screens, new characters will also be making their debut, and they mean business.

Zachary Levi, who called his character a "wildcard," seem to be a villain of the show, while Robbie Kay might just throw his opponent into another dimension. Ryan Guzman's power, if he has any, hasn't been revealed yet.

There are also several other characters who will be introducing new powers.

Showrunner Tim Kring reportedly assured The Verge that it the "Heroes Reborn" series will indeed be different from the original show.

"The truth is, when the show came out, it looked and felt like nothing else on TV," Kring admitted to The Verge. "And here we are nine years later and there are lots of things that look and feel like 'Heroes' did."

He added, "People may say that they want the old show back, but if you give them [that], they'll hate you for it. So we tried to create a brand new idea here."

Although there will be new elements to the "Heroes Reborn" series, the show creator promised that it will still appeal to fans of the original show without leaving possible new viewers in the dark.

"This has been designed to be friendly to anyone who has not seen the original. You'll be able to pick up from the beginning of the series and know who to invest in or what they're trying to find out," he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview. "That being said, we do want to honor those people who committed to the last series."
