Spoiler alert on "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 - Sheldon will have to work really hard to get Amy back!
The show's producer Steve Molaro drops some major TBBT clues and insights on what the audience can expect from our favorite nerdy (if not dysfunctional) couple.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 is months away and die-hard fans are itching to find out what might become of the Amy-Sheldon tandem in the next season.
During "The Big Bang Theory's" season 8 Finale, Amy, who has been frustrated at how slow their relationship has been going, broke up with Sheldon.
Now, Steve Molaro, the TBBT showrunner, admits that the people behind the hit TV series are still trying to figure out how Sheldon and Amy could work out through the mess that was the Season 8 Finale.
"It's an interesting place for them to be; It seems very real and I think it's exciting that we're shaking things up," Molaro told The Hollywood Reporter.
Asked about how long Sheldon was planning to propose to his girlfriend of two years, Molaro said, "I don't know how long he's had that. I have an idea but I'm not going to tell you! (Molaro laughed)."
"I don't know if the length of time matters so much as the situation where Amy has taken a legitimate step back that he was not expecting," the producer added. "That's really the headline here that we'll be digging into."
Season 8 left many "Big Bang Theory" fans heartbroken as the season ender left Amy and Sheldon's relationship hanging by a thread, on top of Leonard and Penny's relationship somewhat cracking at the edges amidst the pressure.
"Being your girlfriend is so challenging, emotionally, physically," Amy told Sheldon. "This isn't easy to say because I love you, but I need some time to take a step back and re-evaluate our situation. I hope you understand."
Later on, it was revealed that Sheldon was planning to propose to Amy.
Nevertheless, Molaro assures fans that "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 will show just how much Sheldon loves Amy.
"I don't think they're (Sheldon and Amy) done speaking by any means," he said. "He's so fond of her - something is going to happen between them, I'm sure."
