Floyd Mayweather Jr. Calls On People To Make History As He Confirms His Next Fight

| By

Unlike the previous years, interval of Floyd Mayweather Jr's next fight will not span a year.

After winning mega fight against Manny Pacquiao, the undefeated American fighter will return to boxing ring again.

Next month, he will fight Haitian-American professional boxer and two-time Welterweight champion Andre Berto.

On his Twitter account, Floyd Mayweather Jr. called on fans to make history, officially confirming the date of his next fight.

Floyd Mayweather Jr's next fight was first reported in mid-part of July. However, this confirmation meet criticism with some saying Pretty Boy could have picked a better opponent, especially with him saying it will be his last.

“If Floyd Mayweather really ends his career by facing Andre Berto, how terribly discouraging it would be,” Forbes' resident sports analyst Josh Katzowitz wrote.

“Coming off his disappointing fight with Manny Pacquiao — while Mayweather put together a boxing clinic to beat Pacquiao easily and improve to 48-0, the fight, especially with its $100 pricetag, was awfully underwhelming — one would have hoped Mayweather would have given a young, exciting fighter the chance to knock him off his pedestal.”

While boxing analysts slam Floyd Maywweather Jr's next fight for it reportedly lacks star power, boxers are mad because they were not chosen as Floyd's next foe.

Amir Khan openly challenged Floyd Mayweather Jr but to no avail. Now, he insists that the reason why Pretty Boy did not chose him is because he is afraid.

“He’s 100 per cent scared,” Khan said in an interview with Gulf News in Dubai last week. “I think Mayweather knows that I’d give him the hardest fight of his career and probably beat him.

“If Mayweather thought it was going to be an easy fight, it would have happened a long time ago.”
