Fisher-Price Recalls Sleepers Following Mold Health Risk [DETAILS]

| By

Fisher-Price recalls Newborn Rock 'N Play Sleepers due to risk of exposure to mold for infants who use them, he U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Tuesday.

The Fisher-Price recall affects 800,000 infant recliner seats, called sleepers, that were sold at stores nationwide and online since September 2009, with prices ranging between $50 and $85.

The seats, designed for babies up to 25 pounds, feature a soft plastic seat held in a tubular metal rocking frame. The product has a removable fabric cover.

The report advises parents that own this Fisher-Price Newborn Rock 'N Play Sleeper to Llook under the seat cushion to see whether there are dark brown, gray or black spots - all signs of mold. The mold is not on the sleeper at the time of purchase but can develop after use.

"Stop using the product if you find mold and contact Fisher-Price or visit their website for instructions. Consumers can call Fisher-Price at (800) 432-5437 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern Time," the report informs users.

Cleaning and care instructions can also be found at the Mattel and Fisher-Price Customer Service web page.
