Caitriona Balfe said in his previous interviews that "Outlander" season 2 casting news has her feeling excited, particularly that of Dominique Pinon who will play Master Raymond.
Balfe's Claire Beauchamp Randall/Fraser and Sam Heughan's James "Jamie" MacKenzie Fraser are set for a new adventure in a new country.
That is after their painful ordeal in the hands of Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall (Tobias Menzies) in the first season.
While Balfe feels stoked about "Outlander" season 2 casting, there is something that bothers her.
"We felt a little bit of discomfort in the transition, because we were so used to playing in this gritty Scottish mud," Balfe said in an interview with Blastr.
"Everything was very muted with the wools. Now all of a sudden we're in these luxurious apartments and grand houses."
The second season of the Starz TV series based on the novel series by Diana Gabaldon will move to France and other countries in Europe.
Aside from latest "Outlander" season 2 casting, other changes that will be seen in the show is the production set. Shooting locations are in Scotland, Prague, and southern England.
"Every set, costume and prop [from Season 1] had to be set aside. Now it's a whole new series. We're going to Prague for the streets of Paris, but we're still doing most of the interiors on our soundstages. There are other locations in Scotland we'll use, like exterior home gardens. And there are some palaces in England that will be stand-ins for Versailles," showrunner Ron D. Moore said on the same interview.
Other new members of "Outlander" season 2 cast are Rosie Day as Mary Hawkins, the daughter of a minor baronet and the niece of Silas Hawkins, Andrew Gower as Prince Charles Edward Stuart, Romann Berrux as Fergus. Stanley Weber and Robert Cavanagh will play as Le Comte St. Germain, a member of the French Court while Cavanagh and Jamie's cousin and a strong Jacobite, respectively.
