As pop singer Selena Gomez takes on the mentorship job on "The Voice" Season 9, viewers can expect her style to be taught to the contestants.
US Weekly magazine recently reported "The Voice" Season 9 will have pop singer Selena Gomez as mentor for Gwen Stefani's team. This report followed previous rumors that she will get on board to be part of the newest season of the reality singing competition.
The report of "The Voice" Season 9 having Selena Gomez as one of the mentors was confirmed by Twitter handle Selena Gomez News along with some media outfits.
"She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young," a source told US Weekly, referring to the 23-year-old singer. "She exceeded everyone's expectations."
While upcoming "The Voice" Season 9 mentor Selena Gomez has not yet tweeted something about this news, she reportedly joins co-mentors John Fogerty, Brad Paisley and Missy Elliott for Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams respectively, US Weekly said.
"The Voice" Season 9, apart from Selena Gomez, has had its fair share of prominent artists who have joined the mentorship panel. Artists such as Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor and Ellie Goulding were the mentors for the previous season.
Now that the chairs are all occupied, this only proves wrong the rumors that the show's producers wanted Justin Bieber to sit as one of the judges.
In an earlier report by Hollywood Life, the young singer was once eyed by the producers to be part of the show.
"Blake and Adam are mainstays and they will not be removed," the report cited a source saying. "They have talked about pairing [the group] with Usher but they also would like to see the three guys [Blake, Adam and Justin] interact with a girl."
NBC earlier announced that the airing of "The Voice" Season 9, which will feature Selena Gomez as one of the mentors, will be on September 21. The date was also posted on the official Twitter account of "The Voice."
