The long wait may finally be over, Dave Matthews Band is reportedly working on a new album.
While on tour, the American rock band is also set to record new songs for an upcoming release.
However, the band has yet to reveal their plans as to when they will launch their new record.
According to reports, Dave Matthews Band has actually recorded some tracks already.
"I've been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun," Matthews said, as reported by Relix. "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past."
"I think we are unique and a pretty badass band - maybe a little creakier than we once were," he explained. "We are cursed and blessed with the fact that if you want to see what the band is like and get to know us, then you have to see us live or at least listen."
And while new songs could be expected from DMB, Dave Matthews revealed that they will be performing old unreleased tracks during their tour this year.
"There are some songs the band has been playing for a long time," he hinted. "And then whenever I start messing around in the studio, I start writing, so hopefully we can come up with something worth listening to."
And in a previous interview with Rolling Stone, the band's frontman shared details about their new album. What fans should expect once they're done recording the new tracks.
While there's definitely new music involved, Dave Matthews said that he's busy working on something that will not be redundant to their previous albums.
"I've been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun," Matthews said. "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past."
